Citywide yard sales (also called community-wide or town-wide sales) are single-day or single-weekend events where dozens — sometimes hundreds — of households in the same city hold yard sales at once. Usually organized by the city government, local chamber of commerce, or parks and recreation department, these events make it easy to plan a productive day of treasure hunting without driving between far-apart sales.
Unlike scattered weekend sales, a citywide event concentrates every seller into one weekend and often provides a master map or address list. You can cover a dozen sales in an hour, compare prices across neighborhoods, and avoid wasted drive time. Many cities also waive the usual yard sale permit fee for participants during the event.
